Walmart has just announced a game-changing update for its Walmart Marketplace sellers: the company’s ocean shipping service is now available to all Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) sellers. This service enables sellers to transport products manufactured in China directly to Walmart’s fulfillment centers across the United States, opening up new possibilities for international sellers.
According to Scott Humanek, Walmart’s Senior Director of Global Inbound, the pilot program for this service exceeded expectations in both feedback and volumes. With this success, Walmart is now ready to support all WFS sellers in growing their businesses on the platform.
The Walmart Cross Border service is a port-to-door, full-container load freight service that operates from the major Chinese ports of Yantian, Shanghai, and Ningbo. Once the cargo arrives in the U.S., it is transported directly to a Walmart fulfillment center, streamlining the process for sellers and making it easier to reach U.S. customers.
This development is part of Walmart’s broader strategy to expand its services beyond traditional retail, helping sellers optimize logistics, reduce costs, and grow their presence in the competitive e-commerce landscape. For international sellers on Walmart Marketplace, this new service is a significant opportunity to enhance their operations and achieve greater success in the U.S. market.
