Update on TikTok (March 2025)

At GeekSeller, we’ve decided to move forward with developing our TikTok Shop integration, despite ongoing uncertainty about whether the platform will continue operating in the U.S. However, all signs suggest that TikTok will remain active, and we’re betting on its growing demand—especially for sellers looking to fulfill TikTok Shop orders using Walmart WFS and Amazon FBA via multichannel solutions.

Why We’re Investing in TikTok Shop Integration

TikTok continues to expand its e-commerce presence, making it a powerful channel for brands. The ability to seamlessly fulfill orders using Walmart WFS and Amazon FBA could be a game-changer for sellers, helping them streamline operations and scale across multiple marketplaces.

Even with the regulatory uncertainty, TikTok remains one of the most engaging platforms for brands and creators. The numbers speak for themselves—TikTok has maintained 90% of its user traffic in the U.S., despite recent app store removals and legal battles.

TikTok U.S. Sale Deadline: April 5, 2025

While TikTok remains operational, the U.S. government has set a deadline of April 5, 2025, for its parent company, ByteDance, to sell TikTok’s U.S. operations. If no deal is reached, the platform faces a potential ban in the U.S.

TikTok’s Latest Updates

1. TikTok Sunsets Creator Marketplace, Launches TikTok One

TikTok is shutting down its Creator Marketplace (which connected brands with influencers for sponsored content) on April 1st. It’s being replaced by TikTok One, a new platform that:

  • Connects brands with creators for collaborations
  • Offers tools for trend tracking and content inspiration
  • Includes an AI-powered creative studio to help brands produce high-performing ads

2. New Web-Based Experience

TikTok is rolling out a redesigned desktop experience, featuring:

  • Modular Design – An immersive layout optimized for browsing
  • LIVE Game Streaming – Supports both portrait and landscape modes
  • Floating Video Player – Keeps videos on-screen while multitasking
  • Collections Feature – Allows users to organize saved videos (similar to YouTube playlists)

3. TikTok’s Content Moderation and EU Expansion

TikTok is doubling down on content moderation in the EU, recently reporting over 21 million content removals in six months. The platform is also expanding TikTok Shop in Europe, launching in Ireland and Spain, with plans to continue its growth.

What’s Next for GeekSeller and TikTok Shop?

We’re committed to supporting TikTok Shop sellers by developing tools that simplify order fulfillment through Walmart WFS and Amazon FBA. As TikTok solidifies its role in e-commerce, we want our sellers to be ready to capitalize on its potential.

Stay tuned for updates as we continue working on this integration!
