Shopify introduced its app Shop in 2020, which enables buyers to track their packages purchased on Shopify stores and allows consumers to view product recommendations. Some experts viewed the app as Shopify’s attempt to create a marketplace. Recently, Shopify introduced a new feature for the Shop that might be the next step in this attempt.
Accessible at https://shop.app/ai is a simple interface where you can ask an AI-powered assistant to help you find products sold by Shopify sellers. I have been playing around with it, and it did a pretty good job of understanding my needs and recommending products.
