The list of retailers running their online marketplace has been updated as another top player joined the competition. The marketplace announced by Macy’s in November 2021 was officially launched in September this year.
“After a year of intense work creating an exceptional experience for customers and sellers, we are thrilled to launch a curated marketplace on macys.com, expanding our digital assortment to new categories, brands, and products that our customers will love,” said Matt Baer, chief digital and customer officer at Macy’s, Inc. “Seamlessly integrated into Macy’s digital shopping experience, marketplace gives our customers access to an array of expertly curated products — from apparel and beauty to home improvement, toys, pet products and more.”
The new digital marketplace will provide Macy’s customers with access to more than 20 new categories and 400 new brands. Here’s a list of some of the categories and brands:
- Baby & Children’s apparel (Bonsie Baby, Dabble & Dollop, Wabi Baby)
- Beauty & Wellness (L’Occitane, Mary Ruth’s)
- Electronics (LG, Samsung, Sony, TCL)
- Gifting (The Million Roses, Teaspressa, Wrappr)
- Home (Ettitude, Smeg, Sunday Citizen, W&P)
- Maternity (Everly Grey, Ingrid & Isabel)
- Pets (Little Beast)
- Toys & Video Games (Magna-Tiles)
Mirakl will power the ability to offer a diversified assortment for third-party sellers. This also allows customers to browse products via a website or mobile application.
Macy’s Star Rewards loyalty plan will be available for all customers purchasing products in the marketplace. All perks and benefits of this program will work the same way they do in retail stores. However, returns must be shipped via UPS directly to third-party sellers within 30 days, and shoppers cannot return items to Macy’s stores.
Right now, there is no application process open for sellers. Macy’s marketplace selects and invites a seller after a thorough review. We will notify our users when this changes.
