GeekSeller’s Website Redesign: Simplicity, Speed, and Practicality

Today, we’re launching our redesigned website! Our goal was simple: create a fast, clean, and functional experience. We moved forward with WordPress, which we still consider the best CMS for flexibility and long-term management. In the past, we used plugins like Elementor, but this time, we opted for a simpler approach—using the default Twenty Twenty-Four WordPress theme with only slight HTML/CSS customizations.

Minimalist Approach to Plugins and Design

Instead of overloading the site with unnecessary plugins, we kept it to around five essential ones. There are no fancy animations or annoying pop-ups – just a clean, user-friendly experience. Our design choices focused on performance:

  • CSS gradients instead of images for backgrounds.
  • WEBM for videos and WEBP or vector formats for images whenever possible.
  • Big fonts, simple language, and fewer pages to highlight key information without overwhelming visitors.

Content Strategy: No Fluff, Just Value

We’ve noticed that most visitors don’t read long paragraphs—they skim, ask questions, and want answers fast. Based on demos and conversations with potential clients, we’ve structured our content to be direct:

  • We show what we offer without marketing jargon.
  • We display genuine reviews from our users.
  • We provide an easy-to-access demo so sellers can quickly see how our tools work.

SEO in 2025: It’s Not Just About Keywords

SEO has changed. It’s no longer about keyword stuffing or obsessing over meta descriptions (Google now often generates its own). Instead, SEO is now about:

  • Domain authority.
  • Website speed and performance.
  • Unique, relevant content.

We’ve optimized site speed using PageSpeed Insights, and while we’re already performing well, our goal is to hit 100% across all metrics.

Our Content Strategy Moving Forward

We’re shifting our focus away from generic eCommerce news (companies like Shopifreaks already do a great job at that). Instead, we’ll focus on:

  • Unique insights about GeekSeller and our partners.
  • Content that provides real value to sellers.
  • Original topics that AI-generated blogs can’t easily replicate.

This redesign isn’t just about a new look but a better, faster, and more user-friendly experience.
