Amazon’s introduction of the Solution Provider Portal (SPP) marks a significant shift for third-party developers and service providers working with Selling Partner APIs (SP-API). SPP serves as a centralized platform to streamline the management of applications and services offered to Amazon’s selling partners.
What Does This Mean for Sellers and Solution Providers?
For solution providers, migrating to SPP is essential to maintain uninterrupted access to SP-API. Amazon has announced that effective August 31, 2025, SP-API access through Seller Central will be retired for third-party solution providers, and any service provider accounts that have not migrated from Seller Central to SPP by April 10, 2025 will lose the ability to access new Seller Central accounts and may lose access to existing accounts. Therefore, it’s crucial to transition to SPP before this deadline to continue leveraging SP-API integrations.

GeekSeller’s Migration Experience
At GeekSeller, the migration to SPP was straightforward and efficient. With our application already approved, the transition process took less than a few minutes. We appreciate Amazon’s efforts in enhancing the developer experience, particularly the new portal’s capabilities that allow us to monitor API usage metrics effectively. These features provide valuable insights into call efficiency, success rates, and error tracking, contributing to optimized performance.
One reason our migration was so smooth is that GeekSeller doesn’t require sellers to invite us to their Seller Central accounts; all we ask is for them to authorize our app. However, if you’re a consultant who needs direct access to Seller Central, this shift is significant. Seller Central administrators must now add external contractors and third-party service providers as authorized partners, not as secondary users.
Impact on GeekSeller Users
Our users are not impacted by this migration. However, if you need to reauthorize the GeekSeller application, you can do so easily via Seller Central. Detailed instructions are available in our knowledge base.
Commitment to Compliance and Security
GeekSeller remains committed to working closely with Amazon to ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of service and security. We actively utilize tools like Guard to maintain compliance with Amazon’s security protocols, ensuring that our applications adhere to the latest requirements and best practices.
