Amazon has announced that starting from June 6, 2023, new product listings for certain product types must include three new attributes: color name, size name, or product description attributes. These attributes are required for specific product types such as backpacks, underpants, bra, apron, keychain, costume outfit, leotard, scarf, sunglasses, light fixture, art supplies, hardware handle, kitchen, artificial plant, wireless accessory, home furniture and decor, and office products.
The new requirements aim to improve product searchability and provide more accurate product information to customers. Sellers should ensure that their new listings comply with the new requirements, or their products will not be added to the catalog. Inactive listings can also be updated with the required attributes.
The required attributes and the product types:
- Color name: backpack, underpants, bra, apron, keychain, costume outfit
- Size name: leotard, scarf, sunglasses
- Product description: light fixture, art supplies, hardware handle, kitchen, artificial plant, wireless accessory, home furniture and decor, office products
If you have inactive listings that you would like to publish, you can do so by accessing the Manage Inventory section in your Seller Central. Simply filter the listings for the affected product types and update the required attributes.
